Key Responsibilities:
Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings to determine wiring layouts.
Install, repair, and maintain electrical wiring systems, outlets, circuit breakers, and lighting fixtures.
Ensure all electrical work complies with local and national electrical codes and safety standards.
Troubleshoot and diagnose electrical issues, providing effective solutions to problems.
Conduct regular inspections of electrical systems to identify potential hazards or issues.
Collaborate with other tradespeople and contractors to coordinate electrical work with other construction or renovation activities.
Keep accurate records of work performed, including service reports and compliance documentation.
Maintain tools and equipment in good working order and adhere to safety protocols at all times.
Provide excellent customer service by communicating clearly with clients about electrical systems and recommendations.
Tasks
Install underground wiring and cables
Splice, join and connect wires
Test and measure voltage, loads, ground faults integrity of circuits
Troubleshoot and isolate faults
Install surface mount and/or overhead cables
Install power generation, stand-by power generation and power conditioning systems
Renovate electrical systems in residential and commercial structures
Read and interpret blueprints, maps, drawings and specifications
Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent; completion of an electrical apprenticeship program preferred.
Valid electrician’s license or certification as required by local regulations.
Proven experience as a wiring electrician, with a strong understanding of electrical systems.
Knowledge of electrical codes, regulations, and safety practices.
Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Physical stamina and ability to perform manual labor in various environments.
Working Conditions:
Work may be performed indoors or outdoors, in various weather conditions.
May involve working at heights or in confined spaces.
Physically demanding role that may require lifting heavy equipment and tools.
